M-THEORY & STRING THEORY

historians can and do debate all day...

The 'removing' or 'erasing' history line is silly. We're talking about the focusing on and glorification of a small part of Southern history, and doing so of only one 'side' of the time, the pro-slavery side. The South is not filled with statutes of, say, George Thomas (Southern but Union General) or schools named after, say, William Carney (Southern born African-American Union soldier and recipient of the Medal of Honor), it is filled with statues of Confederate leaders and schools named after them. It's a purposeful choosing of an abominable cause and glorifying it beyond and above all other history in the region. There is no good reason to continue it.

art for all and for free?

Indeed - we like this idea! Thought Bomb is also free!

Art for All is a text message activated automated art project that Build This and I have been developing for about 8 months or so. The idea is simple: text message +1 312-635-4223 with your first and last name and in return, you’ll get a free digital artwork totally unique to you. We feel very strongly that this basic interaction should be free for everyone, and those who can afford to support the project can do so by donating or buying a print of their work. A lot of my practice is based around the approachability of art and alternative methods or venues of displaying it. This is just another opportunity for me to break expectations of the typical art world models in every aspect—creation, viewing and commerce.- Chad Kouri

I Considered Cloning Myself -- But I'm Having Second Thoughts

by Stephen Moss, The Guardian

A British couple have paid $100,000 to clone their dog. But however tempting the process might be for a human egoist, it would destroy the point of life: that it ends.

(and this idiot goes on:)

I guess I could have become a sperm donor instead, but I worried too much about being traced by offspring wanting handouts. My egoism was tempered by emotional and fiscal wariness.

Hey, Bud, those would be your kids - you bleeping idiot... you ego-maniac, psychopath...

So let's just say there are too many people running around the planet like this knucklehead...
